Twin sockets and trunking on a tested final circuit

What's included

  • Single sockets upgraded to doubles
  • New sockets added where the extension leads live
  • USB and USB-C sockets for phones and tablets
  • Kitchen worktop and appliance points
  • Home-office and TV-wall sockets
  • Neat chasing or surface trunking, making-good kept to a minimum

Who it's for

Homeowners tired of extension leads and adaptors, anyone setting up a home office, people refitting a kitchen, and landlords adding sockets to suit how tenants actually live.

How it works

  1. Tell us where you want sockets and what they're for
  2. We confirm the best supply point and route
  3. Install, with neat chasing or surface trunking as agreed
  4. Test, and make good around the new sockets

Adding sockets where you actually need them

Most homes were wired for how people lived decades ago, with far fewer sockets than a modern household uses. The result is extension leads snaking across rooms, multi-way adaptors stacked on top of each other, and the same two sockets doing the work of six. We add extra sockets across Kent so the power is where you need it, safely and tidily.

Whether it’s a single extra double in an awkward spot or a full set of points for a kitchen or home office, we plan the supply, keep the disruption down, and quote it before we start.

Single to double, and beyond

Swapping a single socket for a double is one of the most worthwhile small jobs in a house, and it’s usually quick. Where you need more than that, we can add several doubles on a spur or extend the ring, depending on what the existing circuit can take.

We don’t just pile sockets onto a circuit that can’t support them. Part of the job is checking the existing wiring can handle the addition, so you end up with capacity rather than a circuit that trips under load.

USB and worktop sockets

Sockets with built-in USB and USB-C outlets are popular by the bed, the sofa, and the desk, freeing up the mains outlets and getting rid of the wall-wart chargers. In kitchens, well-placed worktop sockets make a real difference to how the room works, and we can site them clear of the splash zones around sinks and hobs.

We fit good-quality accessories in the finish you want, so the result looks deliberate rather than added on.

Spurs, rings, and doing it properly

There’s a right and a wrong way to add a socket. A single unfused spur taken from the right point is fine; overloading a circuit or daisy-chaining spurs off spurs is not. We work out the correct method for your circuit so the addition is safe and compliant with BS 7671, not just convenient.

Where a room really needs more than the existing circuit can give, the honest answer is sometimes a new dedicated circuit, and we’ll tell you if that’s the case rather than overloading what’s there.

How a socket job runs

Tell us where you’d like sockets and what they’re for. We confirm the best supply point and cable route, then install with neat chasing into the wall or tidy surface trunking, whichever you prefer. We test the new sockets and make good around them before we leave.

Several sockets around the house are usually done in one visit and quoted up front.

Frequently asked questions

Can you change a single socket to a double?

Yes, and it's usually a quick job. Where you need more than that we can add sockets on a spur or extend the ring, after checking the existing circuit can take the extra load. We won't overload a circuit just to add outlets.

Can you fit sockets with USB charging built in?

Yes. USB and USB-C sockets are popular by beds, sofas, and desks, and free up the mains outlets from chargers. We fit good-quality accessories in the finish you want.

Can you add worktop sockets in a kitchen?

Yes. Well-placed worktop and appliance sockets make a kitchen far easier to use, and we site them clear of the splash zones around sinks and hobs, on a circuit sized for the load.
